These Vocalion issues belong to the label’s jazz and swing catalogue of the 1930s, drawing heavily on important American recordings. Artists including Benny Carter, Artie Shaw and Maxine Sullivan make the series particularly notable for British pressings of leading pre-war jazz and big-band performances.
