Alice Verlet, the Belgian soprano celebrated for her coloratura technique and her performances at the Paris Opéra, sings a Mad Scene on HMV 2-053003, a 12-inch single-sided pressing. The 2-053003 HMV number is a French Red Label pressing from the earliest Gramophone Company sessions; Verlet made very few recordings and is a name among specialist collectors of early coloratura singing.
