BDidn't I tell you?

Aunt Jemima — the stage name of Alberta Hunter, one of the most significant American blues and jazz singers — performing 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' from Jerome Kern's Show Boat and 'Didn't I Tell You?' on Columbia catalogue 4917. Hunter's Columbia recordings are of genuine collector interest to students of early American jazz and blues.AI summary

Aunt Jemima

ADidn't I tell you
BCan't help lovin dat man

'Aunt Jemima' (a stage name, not a real person) recorded 'Didn't I Tell You' and 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' for Columbia, catalogue 4917, in the early 1920s. This is a vaudeville or novelty recording and carries the offensive racial nomenclature common to that era.AI summary
