Don Byas was a tenor saxophonist of significant importance in the swing and bebop eras, known for his dark tone and sophisticated harmonic sense. This Jamboree pressing of 'Avalon' and 'Blue and Sentimental' captures his chamber-jazz style, though the small Jamboree label and catalogue number suggest a limited pressing.
