Enrico Caruso with violinist Mischa Elman, recorded two pieces on Victor: Massenet's 'Elegie' and Gounod's 'Ave Maria'. This is a rare and significant collaborative recording pairing two giants of early recording — Caruso, the greatest tenor of the acoustic era, and Elman, one of the most celebrated violinists of the period.
