Enrico Caruso and Emmy Destinn, two of the greatest opera singers of the early 20th century, recorded the "Miserere" duet from Verdi's *Il trovatore* for His Master's Voice. Both artists were major stars at the Metropolitan Opera; this recording represents a true meeting of canonical voices.
