King George V and Queen Mary recorded an 'Empire Day Message' for His Master's Voice, accompanied by a recording of the Coldstream Guards performing 'God Save the King' and 'Home Sweet Home'. These royal recordings are historical curiosities reflecting the formal ceremonial culture of the 1920s–30s.
