Hugo Becker, the eminent German cellist who taught at the Berlin Conservatory and was a leading chamber musician of his era, performs a Minuetto accompanied by Hamilton Harty on HMV 07857, a single-sided pressing. The 07000 HMV series is an acoustic-era cello series, and the presence of Hamilton Harty — the celebrated Irish conductor and pianist — as accompanist adds further distinction to this disc.
