Violinist Joseph Szigeti and composer-pianist Béla Bartók recorded Bartók's Romanian Folk Dances together on Columbia LB6, a large-format (12-inch) coupling of historic importance. This is one of the most celebrated chamber collaborations of the 78rpm era — two giants of twentieth-century music performing Bartók's own arrangements. Columbia's LB series was a premium classical series, and this disc is sought by collectors of both historical violin recordings and Bartók.
