B(Holtsworth)Old Man Jazz

Label: Gen
Catalogue number: 9045
Genre: Jazz
Format: 78rpm shellac disc, 10 inch unless noted

Jimmy Durante, the celebrated American comedian and entertainer whose distinctively hoarse voice and large nose made him one of the most recognisable performers in American show business, performing 'Why Cry Blues' and 'Old Man Jazz' on the Gen label — possibly Gennett — catalogue 9045. Gennett was a significant American label associated with early jazz; a Durante recording on Gennett would be an early and valuable disc.
