John Forsell was the leading Swedish baritone of the early twentieth century, a major figure at the Royal Opera Stockholm and internationally. This HMV V-series disc, catalogue V9, contains 'Kungssången' (the Swedish royal anthem) and 'Du gamla, du fria' (the Swedish national anthem). The HMV V-series is a Scandinavian vocal series; Forsell's recordings are collected by specialists in early Scandinavian singing.
