Imperial 1285 is credited to Lanin — almost certainly Sam Lanin, the prolific American dance-band leader whose sides appeared on many budget labels — though the catalogue entry notes the label attribution may be wrong. 'You're in Kentucky Sure as You're Born' is a typical 1920s dance number. Imperial was a modest British label; Lanin sides were pressed in quantity on multiple budget marques.
