B(L Fischer)Nachtgesang

Michael Langdon, the distinguished British bass from Covent Garden, performing the ballad 'Edward' and L. Fischer's 'Nachtgesang' on HMV catalogue HS86. The HS-series prefix is not a standard commercial HMV designation and may indicate a specialist or limited pressing; as with the HMS-series disc elsewhere in this collection, the prefix warrants investigation.AI summary

AWo berg ich mich
Bpart 2

Michael Langdon was a distinguished British bass who had a long career at Covent Garden, celebrated for his Baron Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier. This HMV HMS-series disc (HMS84) contains 'Wo Berg Ich Mich?' from Weber's Der Freischütz. The HMS-series designation is unusual and may indicate a specialist or limited-issue pressing.
