Nina Koshetz was a Russian soprano and actress who emigrated after the Revolution; she was closely associated with Rachmaninoff, who accompanied her and wrote songs for her. HMV DB1205 carries 'Kaddish' (Ravel's setting) and 'Eili Eili', a Jewish devotional song — a significant coupling given her personal history and musical circle. DB-prefix indicates a 12-inch electric-era pressing.
