Olimpia Boronat, the celebrated Spanish soprano known for her extraordinary coloratura technique and her success at the Imperial Theatre in St Petersburg, sings an Ave Maria on HMV 053190, a large-format (12-inch) acoustic pressing. The 053000 HMV series is a prestigious early Gramophone Company series for international artists, and Boronat made very few recordings; her discs are collected by specialists in historic coloratura singing.
