Richard Strauss conducts an orchestra in the Intermezzo Waltz from his own opera Intermezzo in two parts on Polyphon 69853. A composer conducting his own opera is always a significant document; Strauss's recordings as a conductor of his own works are collected by admirers of both his music and the conductor-composer tradition.
