Richard Tauber and Emmy Bettendorf performing the 'Miserere' from Verdi's Il Trovatore on Odeon JXX81066. Tauber was one of the most celebrated lyric tenors of the interwar era, and Bettendorf was a distinguished German soprano; a Tauber-Bettendorf Verdi duet on Odeon is a significant operatic 78. The JXX-prefix Odeon series suggests a large-format or special-series pressing.
