Movements 3 and 4 of Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata in the HMV 'Special' private-pressing series, performed by the Ranee of Sarawak (Sylvia Brett) with W.H. Reed (LSO leader and Elgar confidant). Like 8552 and 8553, this disc almost certainly never appeared in the commercial catalogue and survives in very few copies.AI summary
His Master's Voice Special Instrumental
A third disc in the Ranee of Sarawak and W. H. Reed series — parts seven and eight of Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata — on an HMV Special pressing. As with ids 8924 and 8925, HMV Special pressings for private patrons were produced in very small quantities and require specialist examination.AI summary

This is an HMV 'Special' pressing — a custom or private-label issue not part of the standard commercial catalogue — of movements 5 and 6 of Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata, performed by the Ranee of Sarawak (Sylvia Brett, an aristocratic amateur violinist) with W.H. Reed, leader of the LSO and friend of Elgar. Such private HMV Specials are rarely documented and almost never appear in trade.AI summary
