Tod Slaughter, a British actor famous for melodramatic roles in stage and film, recorded the narrative melodrama 'Maria Marten' across four sides on Regal MR611-2. The 'Maria Marten' murder case was a staple of Victorian melodrama and popular culture, and Slaughter's theatrical interpretation would have been characteristic of his style.
