Van Phillips, the noted British light-music composer, with oboist Leon Goossens, performing Phillips's own "Nicolette" and "Salut d'Amour" on Columbia DB1440. Phillips was a major figure in British film and light orchestral music, and this pairing of two elegiac pieces is a rare collaboration with one of the country's finest oboists.
