Vása Příhoda, the Czech violin virtuoso who was one of the most celebrated virtuosi of the interwar period, plays Corelli Variations and a Slavonic Dance on Polyphon 65985. Příhoda recorded for several labels in the 1920s–30s and his playing attracted comparison with Paganini; Polyphon pressings of major soloists are less commonly encountered in British collections than HMV equivalents.
