Vesta Tilley

ALet's have a Night of it Tonight
BAunt Matilda

Label: Robey
Catalogue number: 1062
Genre: Music Hall
Format: 78rpm shellac disc, 10 inch unless noted
Reference: #18622

Vesta Tilley was among the greatest stars of the Victorian and Edwardian music hall, celebrated for her male-impersonation act. The Robey label is an extremely obscure British imprint unknown to most standard references; a Tilley recording on such a label, if genuine, would be a significant find for music-hall collectors. The two titles here are not among her most famous recordings.
