Anton Hekking was a Dutch cellist of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, from a distinguished musical family. This Columbia disc (is4009) contains 'Cavatina' — probably Raff's famous piece — and Handel's 'It is Finished' ('Es ist vollbracht'). The 'is' prefix in the catalogue number is unusual and may indicate a specialist or international series. Hekking's recordings are uncommon.AI summary
