Leslie Banks was one of the leading British stage and film actors of the 1930s and 1940s, best known for playing the villain in Hitchcock's 'The Man Who Knew Too Much'. This HMV JG-series disc (catalogue JG218) contains his wartime 'Salute the Soldier' paired with 'One Certain Soldier'. Wartime celebrity recordings are a distinct collecting category; the JG-series prefix is unusual.AI summary
