Dougal Macnab was a Scottish singer performing traditional Scottish material, and 'Killiecrankie' is a well-known Scottish song. The Royal label is not a major British imprint and catalogue numbers in this range suggest the early 1920s. Macnab is not widely documented in standard references, and Scottish regional performers on minor labels can be overlooked by the mainstream market while attracting collectors of Scottish traditional music.
