Blanche Marchesi was a soprano of distinguished lineage — the daughter of the great vocal pedagogue Mathilde Marchesi — who had a significant operatic and concert career in Britain. This HMV disc with the unusual JH-series prefix (catalogue JH10) contains 'Queen Anne Boleyn in Prison' and 'L'Été'. The JH series is not a standard commercial HMV designation and warrants investigation.AI summary

Blanche Marchesi, the soprano daughter of the great teacher Mathilde Marchesi, on HMV catalogue JG41 — the JG-series prefix is not a standard commercial HMV designation and warrants investigation. The disc contains an 'Air d'Héraclès' and two further vocal pieces. As with the companion JH-series disc in this collection, an unusual HMV series prefix suggests a limited or specialist pressing.AI summary
